The LiZard AtTiTuDe RailRoad is a fictional Large Scale Railroad that now occupies a portion of our home. It's inception started in January of 1999 when a small loop of track was layed out in the "Cathedral Room" inside our home in Arizona. After several weeks of that - it was banished to the great outdoors. When putting it outside, I just threw the track down and went at it... There are many Large Scale Railroads in Arizona because of the climate and ease of installation [very little prep work needed]. Much of my rolling stock and engines are from the Chicago Burlington & Quincy RR - the railroad of my father.
We have since moved and the NEW LiZarD AtTiTuDe RR is up and running. Most of this website shows photos of the Arizona LiZarD but as noted above - new photos and webpages are being added.
Initially, the photos on this site where 8mm video images captured via software. Click on "Nikon Photos" for more impressive photos taken with a full digital camera. As you progress through the photos, you will note how the old layout kept changing and growing. It is nothing like when it first started...that is what makes this hobby so fun. It's always a work in progress and ever changing.
LiZarD AtTiTuDe RailRoad Defined
The Lizard Attititude Railroad consists of a lot of Chicago, Burlington, & Quincy Engines and Rolling Stock. Also included in that is Burlington Northern. This is the Line that My father worked on for some 30 years.
On the right, you see a USA Geep rolling down the Arizona version of the L.A.R.R. As far as the Diesel era, I will be concentrating on the 1950's and 60's.
Galesburg, Illinois
The C, B, & Q eventually became the Burlington Northern which now has become the Burlington Northern Sante Fe.
I grew up in a town where the BN and Santa Fe Main Lines both ran directly through the center of town - 120 freights a day went through Galesburg, Illinois.
Every 3rd week in June, the town celebrates "Railroad Days". C, B, & Q and Galesburg, Illinois have a lot of history together.
I have a myriad of engines from the Big 5 Large Scale Companies [LGB, USATrains, Bachmann, Aristocraft , MTH and Hartland]. I have a diverse enough line that I can run just about anything. The Mountain line can easily have any short wheel based, mountain loco. I don't tend to have much in the way of equipment beyound the early 1970's. I am not big on engines beyound that time frame. On the left, you see one of my favorite locomotives: The LGB Light Mikado in Santa Fe Livery.
